Camden County Receives $250,000 Grant for Road Safety Improvements

The Camden County Board of Commissioners was recently awarded a Fiscal Year 2018 Federal Off-System Safety Project grant in the amount of $250,000.

The grant funding will provide safety improvements that include restriping and signage on 53.29 miles of county roads.

Camden County Receives Recognition from the National Association of Counties (NACo)

Recently, Camden County Administrator Steve Howard and Fire Rescue Chief/EMA Director Mark Crews traveled to Franklin County, Ohio to receive recognition as a Best in Category Achievement Award winner and as one of the 100 Brilliant Ideas at Work by NACo.

Public Notice July 28, 2017

Vector will be in Camden County on Thursday for a low altitude test of its Vector-R launch vehicle.

This test is being conducted under a Part 101 authorization from the Federal Aviation Administration.

The launch will take place completely within the confines of private property.  No impact on the general public is expected.

Northwest Camden County Road Closures

The Camden County Public Works Department is announcing road closures in northwest Camden County due to heavy rains and localized flooding.

  • Located off of GA Hwy 110, Kings Bay Road, Lattany Road, and Notta Road are all closed to through traffic until further notice.
  • Old Post Road between Incachee Road and Lattany Road is also closed to all traffic until further notice.

Camden County Fire Rescue Awarded Grant

Camden County Fire Rescue (CCFR) is pleased to announce that it is a recipient of the 2017 Chesney Fallen Firefighters Memorial Grant Award from the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation (GFBF).

The $2,983.64 grant will aid the department’s fire safety and burn prevention efforts by purchasing a Sparky the Fire Dog costume and smoke alarms.
